Vilja, a Stockholm-based cloud-native core-banking platform for banks and financial institutions, announced it has raised SEK 40 million via a combination of a directed share issue and an SEK 8.5 million loan from DBT Capital. The company said the funding will support accelerated international expansion beyond the Nordics and establishment of an AI development centre in Kuala Lumpur to advance product development. Breakit and the company press release note that fintech entrepreneur Bengt Nilsson (Pagero founder) has invested in the round; Vilja’s CEO Fredrik Ulvenholm commented on plans to scale sales and product capabilities.
