The Medical Travel Company (TMTC) has raised $4.5 million in seed funding to rebuild the broken UK–India medical tourism corridor. Founded by Sahil Jain and Ankit Mehrotra, the duo behind Dineout (acquired by Swiggy for $200M), TMTC aims to make overseas medical care accessible and reliable for UK patients facing long NHS wait times and high private treatment costs. Backed by Nexus Venture Partners, 4CAST (co-founded by Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer), and KL Rahul, TMTC offers a clinically led, full-stack platform that manages everything from treatment matching and hospital coordination to travel logistics and post-surgery care. Its standout feature — a 12-month post-surgery insurance policy — ensures patients receive coverage even after returning home, addressing a key trust gap in medical tourism. With this funding, TMTC plans to scale its operations and expand beyond the UK-India corridor to other global healthcare hubs, creating a seamless, secure, and transparent medical travel experience for patients worldwide.
