Bangalore-based Theia Ventures , founded by Priya Shah , has raised over $15 million , passing the halfway mark toward its $30 million target for its first climate tech fund. British International Investment anchored the fund with $5 million , joined by Allocator One , the Cisco Foundation , and Vitality Capital Partners . Theia plans to invest in about 20 startups with $500,000–$1 million checks and is reserving 50% of capital for follow-ons. It has already completed at least 10 deals , including OctoLife (cooling systems), Metastable Materials (battery recycling), and Canvaloop (waste-to-textiles). Early backing came from prominent Indian families and business leaders such as Anand Mahindra and Meher Pudumjee , reflecting cautious yet growing interest in impact investing. BII’s commitment aligns with its focus on climate opportunities in major Asian economies like India , Vietnam , and Indonesia .
