Lasso has raised US $6.5 million in a fresh seed round to launch its revolutionary food-manufacturing platform. The company’s proprietary system, dubbed Lasso SpinTech , was developed at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University and uses fibre-spinning physics to weave protein and fibre into clean-label food products - without the high heat, additives or energy intensity of traditional processing. Based in Boston and evolving from its precursor brand Tender Food, Lasso is expanding beyond plant-based meat into broader categories such as snacks, pet food and other high-growth segments. The funding round was led by Rhapsody Venture Partners with participation from Safar Partners, Claridge Venture Partners and others.
