Delhi NCR-based Alphadroid has raised ₹36 crore ($3.8 million) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Alkemi Growth Capital, with participation from Shree Vasu Logistics Limited (SVLL) and a group of undisclosed high-net-worth investors. The startup plans to use the capital to expand its product portfolio, acquire new clients, and grow its engineering and R&D team. Founded in 2023 by Sanjeev Kumar and incubated at IIIT Lucknow, Alphadroid builds integrated automation systems that combine hardware and software. The company began by deploying AI-powered robots for the hospitality sector and has since expanded into healthcare, retail, and public infrastructure. Its current product portfolio includes five types of robots capable of handling payloads between 40 kg and 250 kg, with the ability to integrate with lifts, back-end systems, and third-party applications. Services are offered through a subscription model ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹80,000 per month, and customers include Nestle, Bikanerwala, Emami, and Reliance Smart. Founder Kumar said the company's primary focus is on helping Indian companies automate via its robot-as-a-service model, with a deliberate decision to build first for the Indian market before considering international expansion. The fresh funding will also support the development of specialised solutions for healthcare and an expansion of services into logistics and warehousing. The raise comes amid growing investor interest in Indian robotics startups targeting labour-intensive workflows. General Autonomy recently raised ₹32 crore in a seed round for AI-driven humanoid robots, while Unbox Robotics raised $28 million in its Series B earlier this year to scale modular warehouse automation systems.
