Harvey raises $150M at $8B valuation

Harvey, the San Francisco-based legal AI startup, has raised $150 million in a round led by Andreessen Horowitz, valuing the company at over $8 billion. The three-year-old company, founded in 2022 by CEO Winston Weinberg and former DeepMind researcher Gabe Pereyra, provides AI tools to major clients including A&O Shearman, Ashurst, KKR, and Bridgewater. Its valuation has more than doubled over the past year, following raises at $3B (February 2025) and $5B (June 2025). Harvey has now raised over $1 billion in total. The company reported $100M+ ARR in August, double its revenue earlier in 2025. Harvey is backed by RELX (owner of LexisNexis) and signed a deal with LexisNexis in June, positioning it against rivals such as Casetext (acquired by Thomson Reuters for $650M), Legora (raising at $1.8B), and established legal tech players like Luminace, Clio, and Ironclad, alongside niche-focused startups like EvenUp and Finch.
