Goodfire, an AI startup focused on improving interpretability and understanding of complex machine learning models, has achieved a $1.25 billion valuation following a Series B funding round that raised approximately $150 million. The financing reflects growing interest among investors in tools that help unlock transparency, performance, and safer deployment for large AI models a challenge many developers and enterprises face as AI systems grow more complex. The funding round was led by B Capital, with participation from Menlo Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners, bringing Goodfire’s total capital raised since founding to about $209 million. The company’s technology focuses on decoding how AI models operate internally, assisting organizations in debugging, enhancing performance, and building more reliable and explainable systems. Existing and prospective customers include major entities such as Microsoft, Mayo Clinic, and the nonprofit Arc Institute, which leverage Goodfire’s tools to refine their own AI initiatives. With the new capital, Goodfire plans to invest in additional computing power, expand its engineering and research teams, and further advance its core interpretability offerings.
