EBRD invests €20m in Spire Capital, Poland

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested €20 million in Spire Capital Partners Fund I, a new independent private equity fund based in Poland. The fund, with €90 million under management, will focus on equity and quasi-equity investments in technology-enabled small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Poland and across central and eastern Europe. Typical investments will range from €5 to €20 million, targeting companies with established market positions and strong growth potential. This investment aims to bridge the financing gap for profitable companies that need professional support to scale, especially in a market where access to alternative funding remains limited. The EBRD’s involvement has been instrumental in helping Spire Capital Partners reach its target size and supports the development of a more dynamic private equity ecosystem in the region.
